Here are the steps that you have to follow in order to fix your Windows Phone 7 update problems:

• On your phone, press and hold the Power Collapse this imageExpand this imagebutton for 5 seconds until the message Goodbye! appears.

Note The camera button is located on the side of your phone.

• Your phone will be detected by your computer and the Zune software may automatically start. This process frequently takes several minutes.
• Important If the Zune software does start, close it.
• In the Windows Phone Support Tool, click the Recover button.

• The Windows Phone Support Tool will install an update that fixes the problem and restart your phone. If you phone is locked, enter your password when prompted.
• When you see "The device has been updated" text, located at the bottom of the screen, close the Windows Phone Support Tool and disconnect your phone.
